"Display of surface - invisibility / visibility / non-visibility" is composed of painting while using video to document the process. The image in the painting came from an idea inspired by a novel called "The Castle" by Franz Kafka. I created a very durablecanvas with help of Mr. Noriyori Shirakawa, a researcher of technique and materials of oil painting. The canvas was painted with Vaseline, invisible but you can still "see" that there is an image on its surface.
One could consider it a painting from future - oxidation and degradation may cause the invisible image to be visible after a few years.
It is a drifting of invisible images. Just like the titular castle in Kafka's work, what we perceive is not always a complete picture; It is a metaphor for the solid structure of painting, questioning our awareness and senses- fiction and non-fiction.
